They actually have a gel now, you add water and it becomes solid. Then if you need it out you add salt and water. It’s used for free standing bags or those football courts that are weighed down

Thanks for video! Enjoyed it. Could you make a video on how to train alone with no real gear? I.E what kind of rounds to do, Length of time, what techniques to use etc etc. Understandable it is better train with someone who can see you from side, although life can be fast / hectic so training alone sometimes what is all we can squeeze in our daily life. Aging is inevitable but getting old is a choice, I like that. I'm in my mid 40s but I don't feel like old I probably have the mentality younger person in many ways. Being an adult is overrated anyway all those egos flying about . I starting mauy Thai / Buran soon or karate (depending on the quality/parameters of the karate class I've seen ).

it might sound counter intuitive but what REALLY helped my backpain was the JEFFERSON CURL. i was having debilitating backpain from work so bad i i would work up a sweat just from pain of removing workboots at end of ten hr workday. But light jefferson curls with 8-10 kg for one or 2 sets abolished like 90% of that backpain from working 10 hrs a day 50-60 hrs a week.
Yes! I discovered the Jefferson curl a few months ago and it’s a winner for sure. I need to do it way more often.
At 55 im doin about 2 min 3-4x a week about every other workout, but previously i was doing about the same but also doing 15-30 sec per arm for 1 arm hangs hoping it would really bulletproof my shoulders
i want to start doing the 1 arm hangs again but also start doin 1 and 2 arm hangs with FATGRIPS. they wont do anything for delts but should improve grip for heavy back work where i sometimes fail at the fingers before back

Long term Isshinryu karate student here. I have often tapped out BJJ black belts who had as many as 20 professional wins in MMA. A few months ago, I met a BJJ black belt who was starting Muay Thai training. I demonstrated to him a true isshinryu right cross on his heavy bag and also demonstrated an Isshinryu front thrust/push kick. He told me, "Don't worry about your age. If you ever hit someone that hard, it's going to seriously mess them up." I responded, "That was the point." Isshinryu Karate has been combining grappling and striking since long before UFC and ONE were even founded. I know close to 300 unique submissions from the Shorinryu side of Isshinryu karate. Most of these submissions are legal in the UFC, but the fighters there have never seen nor heard of them.

honestly, I don't think so. I think this was like a one-off. I can't find anything to indicate he has been grappling since then. It's too bad. Tony Jeffries started doing BJJ and he's stuck with it.

yeah, It was like that for me at first. took a while to even get up to 30 secs at a time, but I am pretty big too.
Ever since buying an inversion table I no longer get any back pain. Additionally making sure your lifting form is good is also crucial to not worsening back pain.

I can now do 2 minutes 30 seconds, I am 54 years old. I have doing dead hang for around 18 months now, did a mixed of body weight and weight hang with 70 pounds extra.

All the gyms I've been to so far, don't bother to teach holding pads to newbies so I've always felt anxious joining a new gym that I'm ruining my partner's session
That’s really unfortunate and it’s one of the reasons I did a video. I’ve had a few students who moved to new states and joined new gyms and told me they are surprised that not many students are decent or confident on the Thai pads. There should really be a focus on making sure pad holding is emphasized in the lessons so people can feel more confident and everyone can have great training. We put a huge emphasis on the pad work and teach a pad holding series to get people up to speed. I mean it’s truly up to each gym and each coach as to how they wish to teach so I tell people to seek out a place that has the culture you’re looking for and teaching the things you wish to learn. I know that could be hard sometimes given what options are in your area. Maybe a teammate can work with you or you can mention your discomfort to a coach and they can help. Good coaches are always looking for feedback so they can improve themselves and the class. I hope that helps 🙏🏽
So true! That way I improved my fighting skills and ring IQ SO MUCH. I love long creative, intensiv freestyle pad session. Another great game to improve was some kind of touch sparring/shadow boxing with a partner. I often did that with mates when we were a little bit too early at the gym. It also sharped the eyes and improved body control/balance.

Once a day two to four times a week. Depending on how much you train. I have several other stretch routines and mobility drills on my channel so you can do the other ones as well and mix things up and hit different parts of hips and legs to improve mobility and flexibility.
LOVE this. Your instruction is wonderful. I'm 58 and have been an ultra runner for years and just made the transition to Taekwondo with my wife and daughter. Muay Thai and BJJ are next. As you can imagine, my hip flexors are weak and mobility is a issue...it will take time and diligence.
